Poverty

Poverty is estimated as a welfare measure to ascertain the minimum level of income that is adequate to sustain a livelihood. The measure provides an indication of the standard of living of a person or household in a given location using a money metric measure.  In socio-economics and agricultural research, this measure is used to categorize households so that “poor” or “resource-poor” households are identified for proper targeting.
